    Original script for the Broadway play entitled
    Ziegfeld Presents Will Rogers
    with book by Peter Stone, music by Cy Coleman, Lyrics by Betty Comden & Adolf Green, First Edition, February 1, 1989, Pierre Cossette Productions, about 150 pages, bound in red wraps with two brass screws, in very good condition.
    This is an extremely early draft of the play that was written over two years before the play opened on Broadway on May 1, 1991.
    As can be seen in the attached list of scenes and songs, some of the final songs were written early in the development process; however, at the same time, most of the songs in the first edition never made it to the stage and those that did were moved to different scenes in the play.
    This is a one-time opportunity to read a Tony winning play in its gestation period and compare it to the published version that was used on opening night.
    The Will Rogers Follies
    won 6 Tony awards in 1999 including Best Musical, Best Original Score by Cy Coleman, Betty Comden, and Adolf Green, Best Costume Design by Willa Kim, Best Lighting Design by Jules Fisher, and Best Choreography and Best Direction, both by Tommy Tune.
    Keith Carradine played Will Rogers in the musical and was nominated for the Best Actor in a Musical Tony.
