VERY EARLY ORIGINAL NCR NATIONAL CASH REGISTER WIDE SCROLL COMPLETE BRONZE CASE

Description

This is an original NCR National Cash Register complete case for a wide scroll register such as a model 2. It is for a 25 key register. It is all red brass/bronze with the exception of the flat part of the solid top which is bronze on the cast part but yellow brass for the flat sheet top of it. You get both side pieces, both upper and lower back panels, the front lid with both locks and the lid arm, the metal till, the thick glass, the solid top, the drawer opener mechanism, and the drawer pin. The only things that are not present are the wooden bottom(which is listed in another auction) and the finger rail.
This early style didn't use side drawer rails with rollers but rather had the drawer rollers attached to the wodden bottom for the drawer to roll on. Another mentionable item is that the mechanism didn't screw down to the heavy cast iron casting on the bottom but rather screwed into the bronze case sides.
The serial number tag didn't come on this register. There is a paper label on the bottom that says:
"Metal Cabinet"
"No 8610"
"day work"
I don't know if this represents the true serial number or not but either way this is a very early machine.

This style wide scroll case is difficult to locate so if you need one don't hesitate.
It measures 15 1/4" wide by 14 1/2" front to back and stands 16 1/2" tall. It weighs 37 pounds before packaging.
