Description
Up for auction is a highly unusual certificate from 1956, for a sort-of raffle by the Security Traders Association of New York, Inc. It looks like a bond or stock but instead of interest coupons, the winners receive a U.S. Savings bond, a car, or shares in a real company. Terms are on the back of the certificate. Prizes will be awarded if at least 7,500 certificates are sold.“Collateral Thrust – Sinking Fun – Beaucoup Interest – First mortgage strangle-hold…certificate of reasonable doubt…” Any resemblance herein, to any real bond, dead or alive, is purely coincidental.”
Printed by the Columbian Bank Note Company on security paper. Condition is excellent, clean, with several light vertical folds and a miniscule amount of handling. Crisp.
One would not expect an esteemed and serious business organization like the Securities Traders Association to create such a certificate!
Makes a great gift or wall decoration. This is the last one I have.
