    You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running
    by Robert Anderson, 95 mimeographed pages bound in a plain blue folder, in good condition as it is well worn from use during the development phase of the play before it opened on Broadway.
    The play consists of four unrelated one-act comedy plays.
    It is moderately annotated in ink and pencil in an unknown hand mostly with stage directions and prop locations and also a few dialog changes.
    In addition, there are 22 pages of handwritten notes laid in, 9 on the play's memo paper and 13 8 ½ by 11 inch sheets of lined paper.
    On the title page, there are the names, addresses and phone numbers of several people including Production Stage Manager Martin Gold, Assistant Stage Manager and understudy on several parts William Callan, General Manager Robert Kamlot, and Company Manager Maurice Schaded.
    This script comes from the estate of actress Doris Roberts even though she was not involved with the play.
    The play opened on Broadway on March 13, 1967 and ran for 746 perfromances.
    Stars of the show included Martin Balsam, George Grizzard, Melinda Dillon, Joe Silver, and Eileen Heckart.
    Martin Balsam won the 1968 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.
    It is considered one of the best plays written by Anderson.
