RARE ORIG BROADWAY SCRIPT FOR SOMERSET MAUGHAM'S "OUR BETTERS" WITH STAGE NOTES

Description

Very rare original Broadway script for W. Somerset Maugham's three act comedy "Our
Betters". The play was originally on Broadway in 1917 and revived in 1928. A movie of
the play was made in 1933 staring Constance Bennett and directed by George Cukor.
There is no date on this script but I believe it was for the 1928 stage play. It may have
been used as a reference for the film because in the list of characters certain actor's
names are mentioned who were in the film (see photo).
What's so great about this script is it actually has all the stage notes and direction
including cues, blocking, etc. The script is in good condition considering it's age
with wear to the covers, tears on the spine and some tears and chipping to the thin
tissue type pages.  This very rare piece of Broadway history would make a fine addition
to any collection of Broadway scripts or Broadway memorabilia in general.
