, a massive 3 masted 'Square Rigger' that ran aground near Long Branch, NJ, on February 16, 1879.
All 17 crew members were rescued, many of whom were sheltered at the Long Branch Life Saving Station for over a month.
Note the artificial 'sandbar' at her midships created by the 'breakwater' action of her grounding.
A wonderful look back over 130 years long before the
