This re-branded and modified tool is needed when you want to remove the inverted PAL nuts that hold the
top dial cover
in place on late 60's solid state Magnavox Astro-Sonic stereo consoles. You have to remove the cover if you want to remove the chassis. This tool won't damage the brass pot stem, but attempting to do it with a pair of pliers will.
There are typically four PAL nuts holding down the plate and you need to gently pull up and remove the knobs to reveal them....see photo....you will also see other nuts holding down the control
potentiometer stems....these
DO NOT
need to be removed to release the dial plate/cover.
Made from hardened, chrome-plated tubular steel.
Stereo cover, knobs and nut are not included in sale.
THE HINKELMAN TOOL WILL NOT FIT OVER THE CONTROL STEMS, IT IS NOT A DOUBLE SIDED TOOL!
