E T Hazeltine Co of Warren Pa. Paper covers. c1890s. An advertising book of various ships. There are 8 lithograph color plates of ships as well as the two color covers. This book includes plates of
a Sloop Yacht, an Ocean Steamer, a Bark ( Multi mast sailing vessel), Long Island Sound Steamer (Puritan), a Schooner Yacht, a Brig, a Mississippi River Steam Paddleboat (Robt E Lee), and a Three Mast Schooner.
Piso's Cure for Consumption"
- Originally named after one of the founders Ezra T. Hazeltine, the Hazeltine Corp., of Warren Pennsylvania, was founded in 1869, and soon became famous for its cough medicine, "Piso's Cure for Consumption". Unfortunately, Piso's has the distinction of being the only brand name cannabis medicine named in Samuel Adam's (now classic) book on quackery "The Great American Fraud."
The 1906 Pure Food & Drug Act, before Piso's was forced to change its name from, "Piso's Cure for Consumption" to the more truthful, "Piso's Cure," and still later on to the more accurate "Piso's Remedy" for cough and colds.
6” x 8”. Both covers do have some creases and is loose along the spine. Internally good. Sold as is.
