HEINRICH STADLMAIR BAYERN CONCERT ZITHER RESTORATION WORK PROJECT FUNCTIONAL

Description

This concert zither is in amazing condition for it's age.  It does have some binding issues and it needs some love, a bit of binding, glue, and a clamp as well.  Some pieces of the binding are missing and the top has sunken.  It has only 1 harline crack on the back which is amazing compared to the several others I have seen online.  There is also a bit of separation  around the oval sound hole.
The instrument is playable in it's current condition but it could use a fresh set of strings.  Very restorable if put into the right hands.

may have from 29 to 38 strings, with 34 or 35 being most typical. These are arranged as follows: four or five fretted melody strings, placed above a guitar-like fretboard; 12 unfretted "accompaniment" strings; followed by 12 unfretted "bass" strings; followed by a varying number of "contrabass" strings, with five or six being the most common number.
