EMC Capacitor Leakage Tester High Voltage Tube Amp repair In Circuit Bridge

$ 25.87

Availability: 16 in stock
  • Model: EMC
  • Condition: The faceplate is a little sun yellowed, and the letters are very nice, bright with only a small bit of wear around the power factor control. Builders name scratched in face, lower corner and in rear.. Cosmetics overall nice. Missing Rectifier tube for no good reason! Unable to test. Has nice looking, and very old caps and resistors... so expect to put in some TLC before it works. Eye tube condition unknown..though it looks to be light use.

    Description

    A very clean EMC Model 801 Capacitor Resistor Bridge and Tester appears quite similar to an Eico 950 -- Needs a home. -- Builder / owner scratched name and build
    date
    of Nov, 1974.
    These seem to be a little less-than-common. EMC, I believe was always a kit build. Very nice parts -- similar to EICO in every way.
    Missing Rectifier tube for no good reason! Unable to test. Has nice looking, and very old caps and resistors... so expect to put in some TLC before it works. Eye tube condition unknown..though it looks to be light use. Research on that auction site we all loath, tells me this model has a following! Model 801s sold for 35 (parts model), 75, and 0 (whoa, nice one!) Perhaps commenters can enlighten me as to the coolness of this piece's features. What gets me is the switch for high-voltage.... are we talking some sort of leakage test here? Cool bridge function. We all love a good bridge -- still utmost trusting way to zero in on that component. Handheld bridges, and safe ESR meters are a dime-a-dozen these days.... but Does anyone actually like the twitchy uncertaintly of a handheld digital meter?
    This unit was found - as stored in the Attic lab of an Engineer / Tech -- who kept everything neatly stored. The faceplate is a little sun yellowed, and the letters are very nice, bright with only a small bit of wear around the power factor control. Builders name scratched in face, lower corner and in rear..
    This unit was said to have been stored away working, and I was looking forward to test it -- alas ... missing the rectifier tube! I would have readily found one ... but no markings for type. I am sure many sleuths can figure out a likely guess for exact or sub -- buy hey -- it needs a new home.
    Will be packed carefully in double box. UPS Ground Flat Rate for Lower 48 USA Only.
