CHAS DOLNE ~ BELGIUM JAZZ MUSICIAN ~ c. - 1920

Description

Scarce early original vintage promotional photo post card for notable Belgium Jazz musician Chas Dolne.
Dolne played in the late 1920s as a guitarist with the band The Red Beans around David Bee and Peter Packay, with whom the first recordings were made in Paris in 1928. In Milan in 1929 he was involved as a banjo player in recordings of the Orchestra Carolina Stomp Chasers .
During the 1930s and 1940s he worked in Belgium in the swing bands of Gus Deloof (1932), Willie Lewis , Eddie Tower , Jean Omer , Robert De Kers and Stan Brenders , whose orchestra he also played during the German period Crew. As a violinist he can be heard on his recordings with Django Reinhardt (1942).
Photo Post Card measures 4 x 5 3/4 inches and is in very good condition with slight edge wear.  There are no bends, tears, or creases.  Back is clean with no writing and and no postmark.
