    Founded in 1889, the Boston Real Estate Exchange (now known as the Greater Boston Real Estate Board) was, and is, a group of Boston-area business people involved in the real estate industry. In 1914, the Boston
    Sunday Post
    called the exchange "the most influential real estate organization in the country" (GBREB website).
    This certificate was engraved by the John A. Lowell Bank Note Co. of Boston and issued to Henry S. Rowe (1846-1939), a trustee of a number of Boston institutions, an ardent bibliophile, and prominent member of the Massachusetts Grand Lodge.
