America's Cup Yacht Resolute Confirmation of Insurance Terms by broker 1914

Letter to Bob Emmons the non-sailing Captain building and in charge of the Yacht Resolute on insurance terms for the upcoming race. Oddly, the ship is not referred to by name as of 2/27/14 but just as the "Cup Defender" or "Defender". While the Resolute was not christened until 4/25, two months later, it was seemingly the only yacht that Emmons was interested in insuring. The Resolute, sponsored by the NY Yacht Club won the right to defend the 1914 Cup. The race was belatedly cancelled due to the start of WWI. It would defend the cup and win in 1920.
I will be selling about 1,000 doucuments and drawings related to the cup and race. These are from the collection of Robert Emmons of Boston. THey are personal correspondences and documents pertaining to the yacht or about the yacht.
