    Issued on July 4th 1957, this is the first (and arguably most striking) of a long line of  U.S. stamps dedicated to the Stars and Stripes, which continues to this day. Issued before Alaska and Hawaii became States, it is the only "Flag" stamp to depict 48 stars.
    Please note that the sheet pictured is a stock scan. The sheet you will receive has full, unmarked, selvage (including corners) and undisturbed original gum.  It's guaranteed to be just as fresh as when it was purchased in a post office 66 years ago.
    It would look especially nice framed (with selvage, it measures approximately 10 1/4 by 9 inches) and would make a great gift.
