Exquisite Colorized Whale Shark Design
Obverse: At the center of the obverse is Ian Rank-Broadley's famous portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara. Her effigy is encircled by inscriptions of her name, "ELIZABETH II," the name of the issuing country, "SOLOMON ISLANDS," the coin's face value, "2 DOLLARS," and its date, "2021." Below is the coin's unique serial number.
Reverse: On the reverse is a colorized look at one of the world's largest animals. Shown in blueish hues swimming among smaller fish, the creature's head and tail fin extend beyond the natural boundaries of the coin. The name of the series of which this coin is a part, "GIANTS OF THE GALAPAGOS," is inscribed to one side of the whale shark, while the coin's purity, "999.9 SILVER," and weight, "1 TROY OUNCE," are inscribed to the other side.
